Rooted in: Watching my own community, including myself, get priced out of the neighborhoods we built.
As a member of the Planning Commission and the TRPA Living Working Group, I know the mechanisms required to keep locals in their homes. We must aggressively pursue VHR-to-long-term-rental conversions and prioritize deed-restricted workforce housing so the people who make this city run can afford to sleep here.
An Economy That Works For Locals
Rooted in: My lived experience in a third-generation hospitality family.
Our economy runs on hospitality, yet hospitality workers are continually left behind. My policy isn't based on theory; it's based on reality. I will mandate housing set-asides for hospitality workers, fight for livable wages that reflect the true cost of living, and champion long-term economic diversification.
Government That Does Its Homework
Rooted in: Frustration with reactive and uninformed governance.
We need leadership that reads the briefs, demands transparency, and defines what "doing the homework" actually looks like in practice. No more rubber-stamping. I will bring rigorous process and diligence to the council floor for every vote.
Civic Participation: "Our Tahoe, Our Voice"
Rooted in: Watching people disengage because they don't trust local government.
Activating distrustful non-voters isn't just a campaign message; it's a governance strategy. We must redesign how we gather public input, bringing city hall to the neighborhoods rather than expecting working families to come to city hall on a Tuesday night.
